Get On the Bus... It's a Short Trading Week

It's a long drive to Buffalo and a longer drive back in the snow. Now, we have a busy week ahead.

Dear Fellow Expat:

I’ve returned from the Great Frozen Tailgate of 2025.

We arrived in Buffalo yesterday afternoon to snow, more snow, and a loud tailgate with D.J. Buddha blasting music across the parking lot.

The game was cold, and the Old Alliance of Buffalo Bills Fandom, 71,000 people singing Mr. Brightside in the final minutes, and a costly dropped pass by a Baltimore tight end have taken me - yet again - to the top of this emotional rollercoaster.

Settling back in, my daughter forced me to play Chutes and Ladders tonight until she won. I won this sheer game of chance five times in a row - and there’s virtually no way to throw the game. So, I spun and spun, climbed ladders, and cratered down chutes.

And on the sixth round - after a solid hour of me trying to keep my eyes open - she too prevailed.

I hope her victory is a preview of Buffalo overcoming the ghosts of the past and finally winning a BIG GAME after years of losing dramatically.
