How to Have a Perfect Day... (And Other Things I Think, I Think)
Somewhere in the hills we had a great day as a father and daughter, and we even came up with a new name for this letter in the weeks ahead.
Dear Reader:
My daughter and I traveled to Cooperstown yesterday. If you haven’t been, I recommend spending a full day there.
You can hang out along Main Street, visit the various stores, and learn about the history of the great American game.
It’s quite an adventure getting there. Ups and downs come along the muddy hills until the valley opens up.
You find this pleasant little slice of Americana on Otsego Lake.
My daughter loved the experience at the Hall of Fame.
We completed the scavenger hunt. We ate hot dogs.
She bought her first autographed baseball card.
Then, after purchasing a signed card of Colton Cowser (Baltimore Orioles) (thankfully discounted by the store owner), Amelia did what many kids would do.
She fell in love with another card - this one graded.
It was of Adley Rutchman, also an Oriole.
What the hell, I thought… she’ll remember this for the rest of her life.
On two occasions, we also found ourselves in Seventh Inning Stretch, a Main Street store.
