Dear Reader:

Greetings from the Amtrak 11:05 to Washington.

My wife and I just celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary.

We had dinner with friends, and the evening started to go off the rails when one dinner guest started belting out Aladdin songs at a five-star restaurant and ordering tequila for the table, but largely himself…

Yesterday, we went to see Wicked.

You know, Broadway.

There was a woman in the bar line before the show who was demanding we order fast so she could get to her seat...

When I asked her what she wanted, she told me that she didn’t pay $1,000 to see the show without a drink in her hand.

Then, she opened her purse to show us that she had pre-ordered “wine in a bag” cocktails.

She was just in line so that she could get a plastic cup.

I enjoyed the show.

Something brings a tear to your eye when you witness greatness.

Lencia Kebede became the first black woman to take the permanent role of Elphaba, and she can hit a note that carves directly into your core.
