At about 12:30 am on Saturday, when I first tried to go to sleep, a beeping sound started from a switch on the wall.
It’s an older farm-style with an electronically wired alarm system that isn’t hooked to emergency contacts anymore.

Then, around 1:15 am, I heard this sound when I started drifting off. It was a long, snorting sound - and I thought it was my wife snoring.
The dog was lying on her back, paws in the air, bellowing into the night.
