Equity Storm Watch Is YELLOW on the S&P 500 and GREEN on the Russell 2000

This morning, I wouldn’t get overly caught up on the negative reading from the Nasdaq 100 (QQQ). Watch the Russell reading… because the last time we saw a breakout move like this came in July 2022. That was the start of a 20% pop in the Russell in a VERY short period. Now… keep in mind… the market then imploded on the backside. 

Look across the news channels, and now you’re starting to see “The Summer of Small Caps” appearing everywhere. That’s good news for our portfolio, which has been lagging this month. Pay close attention to those 20-day moving averages as breakout potential. Earnings season continues this week, as we start to look specifically at Alphabet (GOOGL), which investors are struggling to gauge at the moment. The stock is now hugging its 50-day moving average.
