Equity Storm Watch Is GREEN on the S&P 500 and YELLOW on the Russell 2000

The Nasdaq 100 (QQQ) has dipped under its 20-day moving average after a rather blistering five months of upward trajectory. The MACD is negative, and the Money Flow Index is dropping ahead of Wednesday’s Fed announcement. The big question is whether the S&P 500 can hold. We typically don’t see large corrections without a negative SPY reading and a negative (Red) reading on the technology sector. The Technology Select ETF (XLK) is teetering and barely holding its 20-day moving average. A drop under its 50-day would be a very bearish sign for markets, which we’ll discuss this morning.
