We enter this week in what is easily the most precarious situation this equity market has faced since… last week…
April 5, 2025.
Momentum is negative. Risks are compounding.
Everyone has a foot out the door…
I just saw a cat chase a dog. Mass hysteria.
The good news is that we have been warning about whatever the hell this is since September, and our signal went negative back on January 28. We’ve been sideways turning negative since… the Fed’s actions to boost the reserves are working but not really… and morale is low across the institutional front.
I walked through the compounding nature of things on Sunday.
Now… we just hang out…
Stop trying to force things. Just hang out.
Build cash. Eat three donuts today…
This situation isn’t going to magically get better. We need some sort of monetary policy accommodation, and if it does arrive, it won’t be out of the U.S… It will come from Japan… because they’re a major source of our problems.
